GLOW
In the skin you're in.

A Mandelic Acid Peel is the Gold Star level peel because of its unique way in which it is suitable for all skin types and tones, especially for sesnsitive skin and those with Rosacea, something other peels can’t offer. It’s safe from burning and no there is downtime.

The rewards continue long after the treatment has finished, as each peel goes deep into your skin allowing your new skin cells to burst with hydration. As you peel and shed your new skin skills, your fresh new plump skin cells will reveal themselves.

Mandelic Acid Peels are known for the tough way they work pores, clearing them and then not just clearing them but also closing them to prevent future blockage. By exfoliating the skin and working deep into it, and so speeding up skin cell turnover, new skin cells are made much, much quicker, and as they move to the surface, they make your skin look brand new.

As the days go by, the healthy skin cells will make their way to the surface, your skin literally look better every day and you don’t even have to do anything! Deriving from being an oral antibiotic itself, the Mandelic Peel has an antibacterial property. Therefore, it’s an excellent treatment choice for those suffering from acne, inflamed, damaged or sensitive skin, or those who are new to medical skin treatments.

This innovative treatment is derived from almonds and Mandelic acid peels are a type of peel belonging to the glycolic acid peel family or AHA peels. Incorporating the front line in skincare delivery systems, it penetrates deeply into the skin to calm, reduce inflammation, and encourage exfoliation.

First discovered by the German chemist Ferdinand Ludwig Winkler, the Mandelic acid peel is aromatic. The skin peel is generally mild due to the large molecular structure which allows for a less invasive penetration to the skin. Yet it gives the same results as other peels, outstanding skin rejuvenation. Therefore, it is the go-to peel for the treatment of sensitive and damaged skins including for the treatment of rosacea.

An essential part of choosing the correct peel for your skin is to choose a trusted skin specialist. Allure Aesthetics is an independent nurse-led medical clinic, so you can be confident your skin is in the best hands possible. As we are nurse-led, we have the skills and experience to address more complex skin concerns. You can also be sure that the treatments we use are safe and effective. I'm concerned about downtime, how long will I peel for?

In most cases, a light to medium peel will create tighter skin and some fine shedding for up to seven days before fresh new skin is revealed. After a peel, you can still go out and attend work, as in most cases you can reduce and hide the flaky, dry look by using the home-care creams we provide.

How quickly will I see results after my peel treatment?

You will see a visible improvement within seven days after your first peel. We recommended a course of 3, with a month between each peel. So, if you have a big event like a wedding coming up, start the peel course 12 weeks before the big day.

What Is Mandelic Acid?

It's not some new, top-secret ingredient we've never heard before—it is another form of an ingredient we've come to know and love for our skin. Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), AHAs are good for the skin, as they work to loosen connections between impacted surface skin cells (called desmosomes) to allow the cells to shed naturally leading to a fresher, brighter complexion.

What are the benefits of Mandelic Acid?

Exfoliates: Mandelic acid is a chemical exfoliant, meaning it removes layers of older skin cells through a reaction with the skin (rather than exfoliating via abrasive scrubs). Promotes cell turnover: By releasing skin cells attached to the surface of the skin, mandelic acid works to increase cell turnover, reducing the appearance of skin damage or acne. Brightens skin: Exfoliated skin appears brighter and mandelic acid goes a step further, strengthening the skin so it stays bright with continued use. Reduces hyperpigmentation: Increased cell turnover and exfoliating properties mean the acid reduces the look of dark marks and sun damage.

I have acne, is Mandelic Acid safe for me?

Yes! Mandelic Acid can massively improve the appearance of your skin and help fight the side effects of sensitive skin conditions like acne or rosacea.
