Science is amazing, right?

There are two proteins within the skin responsible for giving it its firmness and elasticity, collagen, and elastin. The breakdown of these proteins is what causes skin elasticity.

Ageing, overexposure to the sun and other lifestyle factors like tobacco and alcohol exposure, as well as genetics, all play a role in contributing toward skin laxity.

Plasma skin tightening, or plasma skin resurfacing, is a nonsurgical cosmetic procedure that uses plasma to tighten skin and combat the skin laxity caused by ageing and photodamage.

Zeus uses micro-plasma technology, which involves the ionisation of gases, present between the device and tissue to be treated, to create a small electrical beam called a plasma arc. It is this plasma arc that modifies the skin, resurfacing and rejuvenating it. The treated areas will cause regeneration of collagen and elastin fibres, with new healthy tissue eventually replacing the wrinkled damaged tissue.

This technology is delivered to your skin through dots that will be visible on your face. The beam stimulates instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres, giving an immediate tightening, and lifting effect to the area and further promoting skin rejuvenation. The treatment is performed to an extremely accurate target, so it does all this work without causing heat damage to the surrounding or deeper structures of the skin such as the base lamina, which is important because this prevents bleeding or damage to surrounding tissue. After treatment, the dots may still be visible for about a week and so it’s important to take time off from work or potentially work from home post-treatment.

With Zeus, we can perform a non-surgical Blepharoplasty, giving you the same results with a more cost-effective price and more importantly, without you needing to go under the knife.

Healing is quick and scar-free, and the results are long-lasting or even permanent, although the skin will naturally continue to age.
