PIGMENTATION TREATMENTS

Skin pigmentation refers to the colouring of your skin. Our skin gets its colour from a dark pigment, primarily responsible for skin colour, called Melanin.

Most Melanin is produced by melanocytes (cells) that reside along the dermal-epidermal junction in the skin. Sometimes these cells become damaged or unhealthy and it can affect Melanin production which can then show on the surface of the skin. Some pigmentation disorders can affect just patches of skin, whereas others can affect your entire body. Healthcare professionals will refer to patches of skin that become darker than the surrounding areas of skin as Hyperpigmentation.

This occurs when the skin produces more melanin. There can be many reasons for the changes to Melanin levels in your skin such as damage to the skin, overexposure to the sun or UV lights, age, hormonal changes, or purely down to genetics.

Whatever your pigmentation concerns may be, we have qualified, trusted skincare experts at Allure Aesthetics Ltd in Blackwood South Wales who genuinely care and want to help you get the results you desire!
