Avoid any tanning. Suntan, fake tan, gradual tan and sunbeds are equally dangerous. Please ensure ALL traces of false tan are removed at least 2-3 weeks before your appointment including appointments for test patches, unfortunately, if any tan is found on or within boundaries of treated areas, we will be unable to proceed with your appointment and that session will be forfeited. If you need to reschedule your appointment due to tan being present, we require 48 hours’ notice to avoid any late cancellation charges. If you have been exposed to the sun or actively tanning yourself a new test patch will be required 6 weeks after your last exposure day or until your tan has faded before we can resume with treatment. Please keep in mind while being exposed to the sun that this will delay your treatment and where possible we suggest to keep treated areas covered with a white towel. Avoid waxing or plucking before laser hair removal as this will interrupt the hair cycle. Do not bleach your hair. The laser is attracted to Melanin (pigmentation found in the follicle) therefore dark hair is only suitable for laser hair removal. If you strip away the pigmentation by using bleaching agents the laser will not be successful. Clean the treatment area before your session. Don’t use any creams, body oils or moisturisers 48 hours before your session. On the day of treatment please avoid wearing make-up on facials treatments or deodorant for underarms. Shave 24 hours before your laser appointment. Please ensure all areas that you are require treatment for are shaved accurately. Any missed areas unfortunately will not be treated. If you suffer with ingrowing hairs, we suggest to gently exfoliate your bikini area 3-4 days before your session. Don’t leave it to the last day or after you shaved. Otherwise, it might irritate your skin. Wear loose clothes for your treatment. Make sure your underwear is not too tight. Please wear light/white underwear. If you have a low pain threshold, you can take a mild pain reliever before your session (not Ibuprofen) There may be times when your sessions fall on your monthly cycle, this is absolutely fine, this doesn’t affect your treatment. If you are more comfortable wearing a tampon to your appointment please do so. Most importantly, relax, you’re in safe hands.

Before your treatment: You may shave the day before, but not on the actual day of your laser treatment. This is because shaving exfoliates the skin a little, and this is very likely to make the laser treatment more uncomfortable than it needs to be. Don't wax the area, because if you completely remove the hair then the laser pulses have nothing to target! During your course of treatment: You are free to shave as you normally would between sessions. Do not wax or pluck the area at all, as this will affect the growth pattern of your hair and this will have a negative effect on the results we achieve. Waxing and plucking will completely remove the hair from the follicles, and for the laser to work it needs to attack the hair while it is present in the follicle. If you have waxed or plucked the treatment area, you would have to wait at least 4-6 weeks for the follicles to grow new hair. After your treatment: Once treatment is complete, we would recommend continuing with laser hair treatments until we have achieved the level of permanent hair reduction that you are happy with. Any remaining or reoccurring hair will reduce further with each treatment, and most patients typically require about 8 treatments to achieve an adequate final result that they are happy with.
